What is Shift Grabber?
Shift Grabber is a web service created to provide employees a safe yet accessible place to trade their work shifts with other eligible employees of the same company or business.
How does Shift Grabber work?
Once you register for an account, you simply browse the available work shifts in your region and pick up any that interest you. If you have shifts you want to get rid of, you can post shifts that you want to drop for others to pick up. Thus the system works and the cycle continues--your shift offering is viewed by every eligible employee in your area further increasing the likelihood it is picked up and picked up quickly.
How much does it cost?
It is FREE to sign up and includes FREE unlimited shift browsing, for life. You also get (5) FREE posts just for signing up. Any extra posting credits you need are just 50 cents each.
How do I pay for extra posting credits?
You can pay through Paypal with your account or with a major credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). We also accept electronic checks through Paypal. If you make a posting credit purchase then decide to cancel your account but never use any of your posting credits, we will refund your money when your account is closed.
How do I cancel my account?
Just email us and we will cancel your account. We will also issue you any refund that is due at that time. Please refer to "How do I pay for extra posting credits" above for our refund policy.

Is Shift Grabber safe?
Yes. The posting and browsing is completely anonymous. We understand that your reasons for picking up or dropping a shift may be personal and private, thus everything is kept completely anonymous until you decide to release your contact information. Your private registration information is secure and confidential and never released to anyone, at any time.
Are you affiliated with any of the companies or business you support?
No. We are completely independent of and unaffiliated with the companies we support. This ensures the highest level of security and anonymity for all users while keeping the service clean and simple. There is no "big brother" watching you when using our service like there can be with other, integrated and expensive services provided by employers.

What ways can I access the Shift Grabber service?
At this time, only through a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) with an active internet connection. If your wireless/mobile device has an internet browser you should be able to access the service with ease. Our goal is to keep the site simple and clean to improve access from every device and location. We are working hard to create dedicated Blackberry, Palm, iPhone, Facebook and MySpace applications to increase your access and convenience.
Why would I use the Shift Grabber service if I already have contacts at work?
Well, you don't need to use the service, it is here for your convenience. If you do realize convenience is a good thing and the more of it the better then Shift Grabber is the place for you! With our service your need to drop a work shift is advertised to your entire company community rather than just the people you know personally. You get the greatest exposure possible and thus a much better change of completing a shift trade. The success rates climb even higher when comparing last minute and emergency trades with manual phone calling to your friends.
Registration

Why do I need to register at all?
Registration ensures that only real employees of each company are registering with Shift Grabber. It also ensures that employees of one company can't browse and post shifts for another company. It keeps things safe, clean and private.
Why do I need to enter my employee ID number when registering?
This ensures that only actual, verified employees of each company are registering for the service. It also deters scamers from browsing and posting shifts. Your ID number is kept strictly confidential and is never released to anyone, at any time, for any reason.
What if I need to change or update my registration information?
Please email Shift Grabber with your current information and the information you want to change and we will make the change ASAP. You will be able to do this yourself in the near future.
Posting

How do I manage my current shift postings?
Click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page after you have logged in. At the bottom you will see a section called "Active Posts" and you can edit or remove them from there.
What do I do once my shift post was successfully picked up and confirmed with the store manager?
Please remove the posting from the system if you can, if not, it will be automatically deleted after the shift work date has passed.
What do I do after someone responds to a shift I posted?
You determine if you want to respond to them and accept the trade. It is then your responsibility to contact your manager to verify and confirm the swap. We are just a place that brings two people together, you are responsible for the rest as per your company's shift trading policy. If you are unfamiliar with your company or store's policy ask your manager before grabbing or posting shifts.
What is "cash" in the posting section?
"Cash" is where you offer any amount of money to shift browsers to entice them to take over your shift. It is completely optional but vastly improves the response time and success of your shift trade.
Why can't I change the email address I want to use for posting a shift?
This keeps all of the records accurate and ensures that you can be contacted when a browser wants to pick up your shift. It also ensures that accounts are shared with other users using different email addresses--violating the Terms of Agreement.
When I repsond to an inquiry about my post, what information do I need to include?
You should include everything the person picking up your shift will need. Remember, when you respond to their inquiry, they will have any information you release to them.
Browsing

Why aren't certain cities listed in my area?
This is because there are currently no available shifts posted in those cities. When a shift is available in a city, the city will show up in the drop-down list for narrowing your search.
Why can't I refine my search by store name.
We are working on adding this feature. It should be available soon.
What do I do if I want to pick up a shift that I see posted in my area?
Click on the link in the search results page and verify you can work that shift then click on the "contact poster" link and you'll be able to make contact with the shift poster. They will decide if they want to respond to you and go forward with the shift transfer. Remember, when you contact a shift poster, they can see your email address and any other information you provide.
How do I get paid if there is a "cash" amount listed on a post?
That is between you and the poster. We are not responsible for the cash offerings of a shift poster. Paypal is a great, cheap and easy way to send money to anyone but it is ultimately up to both of you to work those details out. Shift Grabber is not responsible for non-payment of cash incentives.
